THE MARKET

Cape Town, capital city of the Western Cape Province and one of South Africa’s most important sea ports sits at both the entry and exit point of Sub-Saharan Africa’s cold chain. Most of the sub region’s chilled and frozen imports and exports pass through Cape Town on the way to their final destinations. Annual throughput tonnages, according to the South African customs are 4,134,387.
Cape Town is also home to the head offices of a number of South Africa’s major supermarket chains.
These facts, the expanding middle classes and high temperatures in Africa make RAC an interesting exhibition for companies which would like to enter the African market or strengthen their presence in Southern Africa.
